Cornerstone Businesses Inc. (CBI), is a Florida-based underground utility contractor with a core competency in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and auger boring.
Founded in 2003, our company engages in pipeline construction, ranging from natural gas transmission & distribution to water / wastewater conveyance and environmental / wetland projects; often necessitating subaqueous directional drilling. Conversely, many engineers design pipelines that traverse under roadways, railroad rights-of-way, etc., and based on the local geography and sub-surface conditions, conventional auger boring may be specified. Regardless of design methods, Cornerstone is the contractor to call.
At CBI, our work includes the installation of Ductile Iron Pipe, Epoxy-coated Carbon Steel, HDPE, PVC and fusible PVC. We are capable of HDPE fusion with McElroy Equipment up to 36″ diameter and are certified through Underground Solutions to fuse up to 16″ diameter PVC without their representatives on-site. Additionally, our experience has led us to work in various soil types and conditions, including: sand, silt, clay, soft/hard limestone, shell, coral, shale and other rock formations. Annually, we send our superintendents and drill operators to Houston, TX to train with our mud supplier on current techniques and methods utilized by the industry. We have all the tooling and experience to complete bores in any of the aforementioned conditions and material types throughout the southeastern United States.
